A Quick Update

We have been in Idaho just a few days shy of 7 months.

That's over HALF a YEAR, people.

MUCH has changed.

Our daily routine? Changed.

Weekend plans? Changed.

People we call when we're in a jam? Changed.

How we're being fed spiritually? Changed. (But not TOTALLY, because we are still being fed hearty meals from the truth of God's Word, only our "server" has changed, essentially).

How we function as a family? Changed.

Everything has changed.

Half a year in a new land, with new people, and a new EVERYTHING will change you.
And we are okay with that. Matter of fact, we're better than okay!

We scorched our way through a brutal, smoke filled August, and we are GOOD!

We tip-toed into the school year in new schools, with new teachers, and new everything, and we are good! A couple kids even won awards! (She's one ...  the oldest was another, but conveniently ducked the camera >insert eye roll<).

We mercifully made new friends. GREAT friends, even. We've waded through pleasantries. Cut to cores. Dug deep into discourse. And we made it! We're doing well!

We wrapped up fall, with scarves and beanies, and raked up the remaining wreckage of leaves.

There is something pretty spectacular about this thing called "fall". You, as I, may have only heard about such a ledgend. But I tell you friend, it's TRUE. Leaves change, like fireworks exploding on branches. Then the air turns crisp, like you're breathing true air for the first time.

Then all of the sudden, right when you think you can't handle anymore brilliant hues in your life, the colors fall. And one by one, they chase each other to the ground. All the yellows, oranges, reds, lime greens, taking a bow with each flutter as they drift, their job here is done.

We've made it to winter. I've familiarized myself with all things yarn and crochet, and there is nothing the cold can bring that I can't warm up, so we are better than good, we are great!

But we, the Fitz Fam, are hardly done. We are just getting started! The weather suits us. Idaho suits us. The work set before us suits us. Put us in, Coach, we're ready!
