Hold on folks...

I've got a good blog a brewin'... it's about the funk I was in last week when I was all doom and gloom and whoa is me. But then I went to church - collective sigh ahhhhhhhhhhhh - and our pastor, conveniently enough, was just starting a 9 week series titled "Encouraged" based off of Romans 15-16. And guess what? I was.

So I want to blog about that and more.

And if you, or someone you love, needs to hear some Truth and be encouraged then I encourage you (heh heh heh...) to come to Compass Bible Church and be fed. Or you can watch online. Or you can listen via podcast. So many ways to catch this gem of a series! But do catch it. God's word is so good, and more than able to pull me out of a Debby -downer funk.

In the meantime, I know how ya'll love your pics-fix.

Oh Troy...


I took this simply as a reminder to me of Mia's first love. Elmo's Wild Wild West, or as she calls it "Horsey Elmo". One of her brothers, who shall remain nameless (Troy) was upset one day and broke her beloved Horsey Elmo VHS (yep, VHS. That's how we roll). So for Christmas I gave her a new copy and she was ECSTATIC.

I'm pretty excited because I'm not crafty, at all, but when I saw this idea on my new favorite crafty blog I got all giddy because I thought, "I can do that!" and so I did. And since my kids ARE crafty, go figure, I had all the stuff to make them on hand - yippee! All I had to do was buy the goodies that make the wings, which only cost me a dollar (thank you Dollar Tree!). I put them in the kid's little Easter buckets. I hope they like them as much I do. :-)

In a Nut Shell...

Saturday afternoon, 2pm, got home from Costco and thought I might be going into labor. Troy woke up from his nap at 3:30, sensed what was going on and was not too happy about it at all. Thinking it was pretty early, but not want wanting to take any chances, we left for the hospital a bit before 4 o'clock Yep, too early. Walked the halls for an hour which produced more of these... Which felt like this... And at 8:42pm they led to this... We are so thrilled to add a precious baby girl to our family We love you Mia Joy! (7lbs 2oz, 18.5" long)

I know that people come from good places and the intentions behind their comments are never bad, and sometimes they're actually funny, but sometimes I just want to say, um, really? Is that the BEST thing you can think of to say? Here are some of my faves from last week... "I'm going to un-friend you on facebook because you do not look like you just had a baby a week ago." - sorry? "What's her name? ... Oh I know SO MANY Mia's. Like, SO many." - great. "Are you guys finished yet? Is there some literature out there I can get for you (to teach you about prevention)?" (This one is my favorite) - "I'm the oldest of three and I am SO glad my parent's didn't have a fourth." - um... okay. This is the one I hear from almost everyone, it's not necessarily a bad thing to say, I just get it A LOT, "Two boys and two girls? Oh, the perfect family."
