Well Worth It

Going against my personal vow not to buy the kids anymore unnecessary stuff until Christmas I purchased these two items today...





They are phenomenal.

Writing that little post about the things my parents did to infuse Jesus into my life growing up I remembered learning at least 100 bible verses, maybe more, from a great little tape called GT and the Halo Express. Every song on the tape (tape... ha!) was straight scripture. Even now I can recall those verses (ablbeit with a silly song in my head) because using song as a way to memorize is a great tool. So when I heard about this little gem (it's actually gems, there are three other CD's I want to buy... maybe for Christmas ;-)), Seeds of Purpose, I figured it'd be money well spent. Oh and the REAL treasure about these CD's is they come with TWO dics - one to keep and one to "sow". Get it? Seeds? So cute.

My ABC Bible Verses has been recommend over and over from moms at my church because it's a really simple, age appropriate way to do devotionals with preschoolers who are learning the alphabet. Short, cute, educational, biblical fun - me likey.

We have the ABC bible verses and my kids ask me to read it over and over again. Gotta love that!

I'm pretty excited because I'm not crafty, at all, but when I saw this idea on my new favorite crafty blog I got all giddy because I thought, "I can do that!" and so I did. And since my kids ARE crafty, go figure, I had all the stuff to make them on hand - yippee! All I had to do was buy the goodies that make the wings, which only cost me a dollar (thank you Dollar Tree!). I put them in the kid's little Easter buckets. I hope they like them as much I do. :-)

In a Nut Shell...

Saturday afternoon, 2pm, got home from Costco and thought I might be going into labor. Troy woke up from his nap at 3:30, sensed what was going on and was not too happy about it at all. Thinking it was pretty early, but not want wanting to take any chances, we left for the hospital a bit before 4 o'clock Yep, too early. Walked the halls for an hour which produced more of these... Which felt like this... And at 8:42pm they led to this... We are so thrilled to add a precious baby girl to our family We love you Mia Joy! (7lbs 2oz, 18.5" long)

I know that people come from good places and the intentions behind their comments are never bad, and sometimes they're actually funny, but sometimes I just want to say, um, really? Is that the BEST thing you can think of to say? Here are some of my faves from last week... "I'm going to un-friend you on facebook because you do not look like you just had a baby a week ago." - sorry? "What's her name? ... Oh I know SO MANY Mia's. Like, SO many." - great. "Are you guys finished yet? Is there some literature out there I can get for you (to teach you about prevention)?" (This one is my favorite) - "I'm the oldest of three and I am SO glad my parent's didn't have a fourth." - um... okay.
