I know I'm pregnant when #4...

I know I'm pregnant when it takes a thunderstorm at 1:30 in the morning to remind me that I left the side door to the van open. It had been open since about 4:30 that afternoon. Oops.

Today I am thankful for...
1. the AWESOME thunderstorm we had early this morning. It had the traces of the south written all over it and I'm pretty sure if I strained my ears enough I could hear tree frogs and if I squinted my eyes enough I could see some fireflies.
2. the fun time in the pool yesterday with Mark and Ben at little Alyssa's 2nd birthday.
3. my new maternity capri's, bought on sale. :)
4. my sweet friend Lolly who had me and Ben over Saturday night for dinner. After I put Ben to bed there Lolly and I stayed up talking well past 12am. What a neat friend.
5. Joanna and Matt celebrating their 2nd anniversary today.
6. OUR NEW BATHROOM MIRRORS! Only a few months late, but they're here now and they look so good! It wasn't so bad not having mirrors in the bathrooms, but they do look so nice now that they're here.
7. the easiest peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies to make, and they're so good! Made some today. :)
8. Mark getting up after only 4 hours of sleep to watch Ben so I could go to a meeting at church.
9. the sermon on Sunday which was convicting and encouraging.
10. spending lots of time with Mark yesterday and today.

you are right, the bullfrogs, and lightining bugs have been full force this week! It's been raining heavily at night, and HOT as all get out during the day. HOT HOT HOT, I love the bullfrogs noises though!

I'm pretty excited because I'm not crafty, at all, but when I saw this idea on my new favorite crafty blog I got all giddy because I thought, "I can do that!" and so I did. And since my kids ARE crafty, go figure, I had all the stuff to make them on hand - yippee! All I had to do was buy the goodies that make the wings, which only cost me a dollar (thank you Dollar Tree!). I put them in the kid's little Easter buckets. I hope they like them as much I do. :-)

In a Nut Shell...

Saturday afternoon, 2pm, got home from Costco and thought I might be going into labor. Troy woke up from his nap at 3:30, sensed what was going on and was not too happy about it at all. Thinking it was pretty early, but not want wanting to take any chances, we left for the hospital a bit before 4 o'clock Yep, too early. Walked the halls for an hour which produced more of these... Which felt like this... And at 8:42pm they led to this... We are so thrilled to add a precious baby girl to our family We love you Mia Joy! (7lbs 2oz, 18.5" long)

I know that people come from good places and the intentions behind their comments are never bad, and sometimes they're actually funny, but sometimes I just want to say, um, really? Is that the BEST thing you can think of to say? Here are some of my faves from last week... "I'm going to un-friend you on facebook because you do not look like you just had a baby a week ago." - sorry? "What's her name? ... Oh I know SO MANY Mia's. Like, SO many." - great. "Are you guys finished yet? Is there some literature out there I can get for you (to teach you about prevention)?" (This one is my favorite) - "I'm the oldest of three and I am SO glad my parent's didn't have a fourth." - um... okay. This is the one I hear from almost everyone, it's not necessarily a bad thing to say, I just get it A LOT, "Two boys and two girls? Oh, the perfect family."
