Today I am thankful for...
1. Lauren's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAUREN! Too bad we'll have to wait so long before we get to celebrate, especially since I've had her gift forever, but it's something to look forward too.
2. so thankful for Amy and the boys safe travel here with Gma along to help out.
3. our time in Simi this weekend. Ben and I went up to visit so I'd get to see Amy some before she has her little girl. :)
4. getting to see Karrie, Will and the new baby Kate! So cute!
5. Breakfast and a fun morning with Ali. Ben LOVED her HUGE fish tank, spent about an hour staring at it. (It's no average fish tank, mind you.)
6. Michael's sweet and plentiful words, they're music to my ears. He does call me "Uncle Sarah" but I'll take it!
7. Little Daniel's perfect demeanor! He's so sweet, all the time, just a little love bug. And he eat's everything in sight which is really funny to watch.
8. getting some face time with Taylore and Thompson this afternoon before we made the ride home. She's going to have her little boy sometime within the next two weeks and I can't wait!
9. (In Mark's own words...) "God's gift of an easy night at work before our vacation" so he left, on time, with no unfinished paper work. There were no accidents last night which is amazing considering it was a Saturday. That's a very good feeling to leave with.
10. MARK HAVING TWO AND HALF WEEKS OFF STARING TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm pretty excited because I'm not crafty, at all, but when I saw this idea on my new favorite crafty blog I got all giddy because I thought, "I can do that!" and so I did. And since my kids ARE crafty, go figure, I had all the stuff to make them on hand - yippee! All I had to do was buy the goodies that make the wings, which only cost me a dollar (thank you Dollar Tree!). I put them in the kid's little Easter buckets. I hope they like them as much I do. :-)

In a Nut Shell...

Saturday afternoon, 2pm, got home from Costco and thought I might be going into labor. Troy woke up from his nap at 3:30, sensed what was going on and was not too happy about it at all. Thinking it was pretty early, but not want wanting to take any chances, we left for the hospital a bit before 4 o'clock Yep, too early. Walked the halls for an hour which produced more of these... Which felt like this... And at 8:42pm they led to this... We are so thrilled to add a precious baby girl to our family We love you Mia Joy! (7lbs 2oz, 18.5" long)

I know that people come from good places and the intentions behind their comments are never bad, and sometimes they're actually funny, but sometimes I just want to say, um, really? Is that the BEST thing you can think of to say? Here are some of my faves from last week... "I'm going to un-friend you on facebook because you do not look like you just had a baby a week ago." - sorry? "What's her name? ... Oh I know SO MANY Mia's. Like, SO many." - great. "Are you guys finished yet? Is there some literature out there I can get for you (to teach you about prevention)?" (This one is my favorite) - "I'm the oldest of three and I am SO glad my parent's didn't have a fourth." - um... okay. This is the one I hear from almost everyone, it's not necessarily a bad thing to say, I just get it A LOT, "Two boys and two girls? Oh, the perfect family."
