This is Ben's new resting box. He asks to get in it at least once a day and then just lays there. :)
He also likes too play peek-a-boo in it too. Silly little guy. :) We had a nice visit from Nana a couple of nights ago and she read Ben's favorite book to him - Goodnight Gorilla. I highly recommend it, it's my favorite too.
Today I am thankful for...
~ my mom's visit the other day. Ben was missing her!
~. the loooooooong but very fun day at Disneyland on Wednesday with some of my sweet friends and their kids. It was so much fun we didn't leave until 8:30pm, crazy!
~. Carrie's fun emails and blogs that keep me close to her even when we're both pretty busy.
~. talking with Amanda all the time, multiple times a day, it's fun.
~. Leslie's little boy Tyler who loves Ben AND me and always asks about us, makes me feel like the cool mom friend I've always hoped to become. :)
~. a really good first day at MOPS and a very diverse table which I think will be fun and rewarding.
~. my day at the Gomez house with Ben. It's neat that I've become such good friends with Mark's really good friends that I want to hang out with them even when Mark can't make it.
~. Precious baby Gomez so comfy in Lisa's belly teaching us all a lesson in patience. Maybe we'll meet the little one next week? :)
~. Robin's baby girl!!! Born yesterday and a fine addition to her two boys. Hmmm, two boys and a girl, my kind of family. :)

Saturday afternoon, 2pm, got home from Costco and thought I might be going into labor. Troy woke up from his nap at 3:30, sensed what was going on and was not too happy about it at all. Thinking it was pretty early, but not want wanting to take any chances, we left for the hospital a bit before 4 o'clock Yep, too early. Walked the halls for an hour which produced more of these... Which felt like this... And at 8:42pm they led to this... We are so thrilled to add a precious baby girl to our family We love you Mia Joy! (7lbs 2oz, 18.5" long)

I know that people come from good places and the intentions behind their comments are never bad, and sometimes they're actually funny, but sometimes I just want to say, um, really? Is that the BEST thing you can think of to say? Here are some of my faves from last week... "I'm going to un-friend you on facebook because you do not look like you just had a baby a week ago." - sorry? "What's her name? ... Oh I know SO MANY Mia's. Like, SO many." - great. "Are you guys finished yet? Is there some literature out there I can get for you (to teach you about prevention)?" (This one is my favorite) - "I'm the oldest of three and I am SO glad my parent's didn't have a fourth." - um... okay. This is the one I hear from almost everyone, it's not necessarily a bad thing to say, I just get it A LOT, "Two boys and two girls? Oh, the perfect family." Crafty Me

I'm pretty excited because I'm not crafty, at all, but when I saw this idea on my new favorite crafty blog I got all giddy because I thought, "I can do that!" and so I did. And since my kids ARE crafty, go figure, I had all the stuff to make them on hand - yippee! All I had to do was buy the goodies that make the wings, which only cost me a dollar (thank you Dollar Tree!). I put them in the kid's little Easter buckets. I hope they like them as much I do. :-)
