For Wendy

Addison received some lovely gifts yesterday for her birthday (more birthday blogging to come). One of them, an adorable Cabbage Patch Kid, didn't go over so well. But, today is a new day and Addison, in all her fickle glory, has decided that the "big dolly" is now her friend. This video is dedicated to Wendy.

I am so glad she likes it now. Wendy will be so excited!!! Although, I wish you had a video of her reacting to it on her b-day. Classic!

I will give everyone the visual... she saw it in the box and was so excited as we opened it... then she took it and hugged it... then all the sudden became very silent and still... I held the doll up to her to show her that they both had red hair and she ran to her room crying and shut the door behind her. Thinking that she was upset b/c i took the doll away to show her I thought she was just mad that I was holding it and not her... so I brought the doll to the door way and danced it around a little... big mistake... she was terrified or something... Sarah went in to console the poor bday girl and she kept saying, "put it back mama, put it back."
So it is very good to see her embracing the doll the next day. I am so glad I did not scar her for life. :)

Oh, and I am glad i had the follow up gift for her just incase the doll was never going to be her friend. :)

i'm so bummed i missed that hilarious moment. sarah, your kids have had some really awesome memorable birthday moments. so sad that i couldn't see addie in all of her glory. wendy's depiction is hilarious, though! and i can't believe i forgot it was addie's birthday! so sorry, addie, but you're probably only going to have belated birthday wishes from me forever--because unless it's jan 1st, every other 1st of the month just sneeks up on me! :) happy 2nd birthday big girl!!!
