Papa Dan's turn...Nana's turn...Your turn!!!! Ben and I met my parents at Disneyland tonight and Ben had a sucker for the first time, he loved it! He ate the whole thing, which occupied him for over 30 minutes. We got to go on some of Ben's favorite rides and we caught a parade too, we had a very fun time. I love having passes!
Today I am so thankful for...
~ Mark being able to go to the men's conference at church this weekend and that enjoyed his time.
~ memory making times with my parent's at Disneyland.
~ a great sermon last night at church.
~ time to read everyday. I feel like I say that a lot, but I really am thankful for it.
~ getting to talk with Lisa a little today and find out she's having contractions!! Hopefully her already-over-due baby will make an appearance very soon!!
~ time with Lolly and her kids yesterday while our men were at the conference.
~ this time of year. I am a huge fan a spring, but fall is really growing on me.
~ being able to give Ben special treats, like his first sucker, and seeing him really enjoy things. It's so fun as a parent to be able to give good gifts.
~ hot chai tea in the mornings. The weather is a little chilly in the mornings now, so it tastes even better.

Saturday afternoon, 2pm, got home from Costco and thought I might be going into labor. Troy woke up from his nap at 3:30, sensed what was going on and was not too happy about it at all. Thinking it was pretty early, but not want wanting to take any chances, we left for the hospital a bit before 4 o'clock Yep, too early. Walked the halls for an hour which produced more of these... Which felt like this... And at 8:42pm they led to this... We are so thrilled to add a precious baby girl to our family We love you Mia Joy! (7lbs 2oz, 18.5" long)

I know that people come from good places and the intentions behind their comments are never bad, and sometimes they're actually funny, but sometimes I just want to say, um, really? Is that the BEST thing you can think of to say? Here are some of my faves from last week... "I'm going to un-friend you on facebook because you do not look like you just had a baby a week ago." - sorry? "What's her name? ... Oh I know SO MANY Mia's. Like, SO many." - great. "Are you guys finished yet? Is there some literature out there I can get for you (to teach you about prevention)?" (This one is my favorite) - "I'm the oldest of three and I am SO glad my parent's didn't have a fourth." - um... okay. This is the one I hear from almost everyone, it's not necessarily a bad thing to say, I just get it A LOT, "Two boys and two girls? Oh, the perfect family." Crafty Me

I'm pretty excited because I'm not crafty, at all, but when I saw this idea on my new favorite crafty blog I got all giddy because I thought, "I can do that!" and so I did. And since my kids ARE crafty, go figure, I had all the stuff to make them on hand - yippee! All I had to do was buy the goodies that make the wings, which only cost me a dollar (thank you Dollar Tree!). I put them in the kid's little Easter buckets. I hope they like them as much I do. :-)
