Then...
Now...

Today I am so thankful for...




~ beautiful flowers from my sweet neighbor.


~ a very fun block party, with plenty of food and good conversations. I love my neighbors!


~ the morning Mark spent with Ben yesterday so I could get our house ready for the party. Mark took Ben to the dog park, Joe's house and the beach! I think it was Ben's favorite day of his life thus far.

~the vision for reaching the youth (ages 12-22) our church has. I'm excited to be apart of something big.

~ my parent's coming over Friday night, and getting to go shopping with my mom.

~ Ben and Cole getting along so well last night. They've had a few falling outs.

~ this gorgeous weather.

~ my favorite father in law's birthday was on the fourth!!!! Happy birthday to him!!! I'm thankful for his fun attitude, love for each of us, passion for his wife and excitement towards life. He's very fun to be around and we love him very much.

~ all of Ben's silly words these days, everyday it's something new it seems. His big thing right now is saying "Sorry" to any and everything he bumps into and whatnot. It's really cute.

~ water, because I'm so thirsty right now and all I have to do is get up and turn on the faucet. We have it so good here.

Saturday afternoon, 2pm, got home from Costco and thought I might be going into labor. Troy woke up from his nap at 3:30, sensed what was going on and was not too happy about it at all. Thinking it was pretty early, but not want wanting to take any chances, we left for the hospital a bit before 4 o'clock Yep, too early. Walked the halls for an hour which produced more of these... Which felt like this... And at 8:42pm they led to this... We are so thrilled to add a precious baby girl to our family We love you Mia Joy! (7lbs 2oz, 18.5" long)

I know that people come from good places and the intentions behind their comments are never bad, and sometimes they're actually funny, but sometimes I just want to say, um, really? Is that the BEST thing you can think of to say? Here are some of my faves from last week... "I'm going to un-friend you on facebook because you do not look like you just had a baby a week ago." - sorry? "What's her name? ... Oh I know SO MANY Mia's. Like, SO many." - great. "Are you guys finished yet? Is there some literature out there I can get for you (to teach you about prevention)?" (This one is my favorite) - "I'm the oldest of three and I am SO glad my parent's didn't have a fourth." - um... okay. This is the one I hear from almost everyone, it's not necessarily a bad thing to say, I just get it A LOT, "Two boys and two girls? Oh, the perfect family." Crafty Me

I'm pretty excited because I'm not crafty, at all, but when I saw this idea on my new favorite crafty blog I got all giddy because I thought, "I can do that!" and so I did. And since my kids ARE crafty, go figure, I had all the stuff to make them on hand - yippee! All I had to do was buy the goodies that make the wings, which only cost me a dollar (thank you Dollar Tree!). I put them in the kid's little Easter buckets. I hope they like them as much I do. :-)
