Today I am thankful for...
1. my parent's getting to see Ben and the boys in the playroom this morning.
2. Ben's fever coming down and staying down all day.
3. Ben saying "Michael"today! It was the cutest thing ever; Ben woke up from his nap before Michael did and preceded to look around the house for him. He went into the playroom and kept saying something over and over. It sounds a lot like "I Cul" Then Michael woke up and as clear as day Ben said it with the M in the right place and everything, Michael! So cute!
4. running again with Amy tonight. Our "Shamrock Run" is next Saturday!
5. Mark knowing the right things to say to me that always make me feel so much better.
6. The wonderful weather we've had since I've been here. While my fam in Cally deal with rain, hail and 50 degree weather, we had to turn the AC on last night!
7. my sweet friend Leslie calling me today because she misses me. What a dear friend.
8. finding out that not one but TWO of my friends are expecting babies! Number one for one couple and number three for another. I am thrilled!
9. Taco Fiesta Mexicana night!
10. Mark being aware of an opportunity to share a bit of Christ with his watch commander, taking that opportunity, and building me and our marriage up in the meantime. I just love him so much.

Saturday afternoon, 2pm, got home from Costco and thought I might be going into labor. Troy woke up from his nap at 3:30, sensed what was going on and was not too happy about it at all. Thinking it was pretty early, but not want wanting to take any chances, we left for the hospital a bit before 4 o'clock Yep, too early. Walked the halls for an hour which produced more of these... Which felt like this... And at 8:42pm they led to this... We are so thrilled to add a precious baby girl to our family We love you Mia Joy! (7lbs 2oz, 18.5" long)

I know that people come from good places and the intentions behind their comments are never bad, and sometimes they're actually funny, but sometimes I just want to say, um, really? Is that the BEST thing you can think of to say? Here are some of my faves from last week... "I'm going to un-friend you on facebook because you do not look like you just had a baby a week ago." - sorry? "What's her name? ... Oh I know SO MANY Mia's. Like, SO many." - great. "Are you guys finished yet? Is there some literature out there I can get for you (to teach you about prevention)?" (This one is my favorite) - "I'm the oldest of three and I am SO glad my parent's didn't have a fourth." - um... okay. This is the one I hear from almost everyone, it's not necessarily a bad thing to say, I just get it A LOT, "Two boys and two girls? Oh, the perfect family." Crafty Me

I'm pretty excited because I'm not crafty, at all, but when I saw this idea on my new favorite crafty blog I got all giddy because I thought, "I can do that!" and so I did. And since my kids ARE crafty, go figure, I had all the stuff to make them on hand - yippee! All I had to do was buy the goodies that make the wings, which only cost me a dollar (thank you Dollar Tree!). I put them in the kid's little Easter buckets. I hope they like them as much I do. :-)
