Prayers and Praise

Thankfully Mark woke up feeling MUCH better this morning. Thankfully it was just a 24 hour bug and he's nearly back to his old self. Ben and I are doing great thus far - I suppose there is still time before we're "in the clear" as to whether or not we'll get sick, but so far so good. I had a great doc. apt. yesterday and the baby is doing wonderfully. Very happy and content in my belly and that sounds good to me. Thankfully Mark had the last two days and today off work, so the timing of everything really couldn't have been any better. With Tina staying with us thinking the baby might be coming yesterday, she ended up being care taker and helper extraordinaire. It's so interesting to look back on certain times and see the reason why God was doing - or not doing - certain things. I am so thankful for the mighty prayers that gave me peace and comfort when I was feeling really down yesterday. Thank you, sweet friends. That was an example of the body of Christ coming together and I love that.

So, no news is good news at this point, isn't? :)

I'm pretty excited because I'm not crafty, at all, but when I saw this idea on my new favorite crafty blog I got all giddy because I thought, "I can do that!" and so I did. And since my kids ARE crafty, go figure, I had all the stuff to make them on hand - yippee! All I had to do was buy the goodies that make the wings, which only cost me a dollar (thank you Dollar Tree!). I put them in the kid's little Easter buckets. I hope they like them as much I do. :-)

In a Nut Shell...

Saturday afternoon, 2pm, got home from Costco and thought I might be going into labor. Troy woke up from his nap at 3:30, sensed what was going on and was not too happy about it at all. Thinking it was pretty early, but not want wanting to take any chances, we left for the hospital a bit before 4 o'clock Yep, too early. Walked the halls for an hour which produced more of these... Which felt like this... And at 8:42pm they led to this... We are so thrilled to add a precious baby girl to our family We love you Mia Joy! (7lbs 2oz, 18.5" long)

I know that people come from good places and the intentions behind their comments are never bad, and sometimes they're actually funny, but sometimes I just want to say, um, really? Is that the BEST thing you can think of to say? Here are some of my faves from last week... "I'm going to un-friend you on facebook because you do not look like you just had a baby a week ago." - sorry? "What's her name? ... Oh I know SO MANY Mia's. Like, SO many." - great. "Are you guys finished yet? Is there some literature out there I can get for you (to teach you about prevention)?" (This one is my favorite) - "I'm the oldest of three and I am SO glad my parent's didn't have a fourth." - um... okay. This is the one I hear from almost everyone, it's not necessarily a bad thing to say, I just get it A LOT, "Two boys and two girls? Oh, the perfect family."
