Somebody had a good time playing with his markers this afternoon, don't you think? Actually, that little pink design on his left ankle is not too bad, maybe we have a tattoo artist in the making? There are worse careers, I'm sure... :)

Today I am so thankful for...
1. the three of us having French toast together for breakfast this morning.
2. Mark having a really successful day out and about.
3. the guys coming and cutting our doors so they don't wear out the carpet.
4. Ben enjoying our trip to Ikea today, man that place is cool.
5. fun in our backyard this afternoon, playing around the orange tree.
6. our friends calling us up and having dinner over here -all spur of the moment like. I like that we live 2 miles away from some pretty cool people, it makes spur of the moment dinners much more attainable.
7. for sure plans to go to Hawaii in September, who's with us??
8. Ben's new "naughty step". Haven't used it yet, but it's just sitting there a waitin'.
9. silly little Ben getting so excited to take a bath, he got in with all of his clothes on when I step out for a second to grab his towel. When I got back there he was, just splashing away.
10. Seeing a bunch of Mark's side of the family at a birthday party for his cousin. It was so good to see everybody and to be there celebrating Karrie's 30th birthday.

Wow, I would have a lot of work to do on this ole body before then, and oh yeah, Jake needs a job. Okay, maybe next year :0)

I'm pretty excited because I'm not crafty, at all, but when I saw this idea on my new favorite crafty blog I got all giddy because I thought, "I can do that!" and so I did. And since my kids ARE crafty, go figure, I had all the stuff to make them on hand - yippee! All I had to do was buy the goodies that make the wings, which only cost me a dollar (thank you Dollar Tree!). I put them in the kid's little Easter buckets. I hope they like them as much I do. :-)

In a Nut Shell...

Saturday afternoon, 2pm, got home from Costco and thought I might be going into labor. Troy woke up from his nap at 3:30, sensed what was going on and was not too happy about it at all. Thinking it was pretty early, but not want wanting to take any chances, we left for the hospital a bit before 4 o'clock Yep, too early. Walked the halls for an hour which produced more of these... Which felt like this... And at 8:42pm they led to this... We are so thrilled to add a precious baby girl to our family We love you Mia Joy! (7lbs 2oz, 18.5" long)

I know that people come from good places and the intentions behind their comments are never bad, and sometimes they're actually funny, but sometimes I just want to say, um, really? Is that the BEST thing you can think of to say? Here are some of my faves from last week... "I'm going to un-friend you on facebook because you do not look like you just had a baby a week ago." - sorry? "What's her name? ... Oh I know SO MANY Mia's. Like, SO many." - great. "Are you guys finished yet? Is there some literature out there I can get for you (to teach you about prevention)?" (This one is my favorite) - "I'm the oldest of three and I am SO glad my parent's didn't have a fourth." - um... okay. This is the one I hear from almost everyone, it's not necessarily a bad thing to say, I just get it A LOT, "Two boys and two girls? Oh, the perfect family."
