Short but sweet, today I am most thankful for...

1. Mark watching Ben for 4 hours today while I worked for 139. Ben, I'm sure, was in heaven.
2. laughing a lot with Ali while helping her out.
3. the rain I didn't even know we got until I saw my car. Kind of bummed I missed it, but I'm thankful for it none the less.
4. being able to do a small task for Mark that helps him out a lot. (taking mail to the post office.)
5. talking with Nonny for bit! I've missed her and Howie and I look forward to seeing them very soon.
6. finding sitters for Ben so Mark and I can go to San Diego for 12+ hours on Sunday.
7. Mark is an honest businessman and does what he says he's going to do when he says he's going to do it. Working in real estate means he has to depend on a lot of other people and Mark has never dropped the ball on a deal. Even though a lot of other people have dropped their ball.

9. Ben's sweet hug and kiss when I walked in from being gone all morning. I missed the little guy!

I'm pretty excited because I'm not crafty, at all, but when I saw this idea on my new favorite crafty blog I got all giddy because I thought, "I can do that!" and so I did. And since my kids ARE crafty, go figure, I had all the stuff to make them on hand - yippee! All I had to do was buy the goodies that make the wings, which only cost me a dollar (thank you Dollar Tree!). I put them in the kid's little Easter buckets. I hope they like them as much I do. :-)

In a Nut Shell...

Saturday afternoon, 2pm, got home from Costco and thought I might be going into labor. Troy woke up from his nap at 3:30, sensed what was going on and was not too happy about it at all. Thinking it was pretty early, but not want wanting to take any chances, we left for the hospital a bit before 4 o'clock Yep, too early. Walked the halls for an hour which produced more of these... Which felt like this... And at 8:42pm they led to this... We are so thrilled to add a precious baby girl to our family We love you Mia Joy! (7lbs 2oz, 18.5" long)

I know that people come from good places and the intentions behind their comments are never bad, and sometimes they're actually funny, but sometimes I just want to say, um, really? Is that the BEST thing you can think of to say? Here are some of my faves from last week... "I'm going to un-friend you on facebook because you do not look like you just had a baby a week ago." - sorry? "What's her name? ... Oh I know SO MANY Mia's. Like, SO many." - great. "Are you guys finished yet? Is there some literature out there I can get for you (to teach you about prevention)?" (This one is my favorite) - "I'm the oldest of three and I am SO glad my parent's didn't have a fourth." - um... okay. This is the one I hear from almost everyone, it's not necessarily a bad thing to say, I just get it A LOT, "Two boys and two girls? Oh, the perfect family."
