(I sort of feel like it's someone's birthday today and I'm forgetting it, so if it's you and I did forget, then I'm really sorry and happy birthday!)

Today I am thankful for...

1. Getting to talk to both Darren and Pam on the phone for a while tonight! I miss them, it's been quite a few months since I've seen Pam and Luci, and that's quite a few too many.
2. Ben taking a good nap this afternoon even though he took a morning nap. Could have something to do with the fact that he woke up at 5:30 this morning!!! NO THANK YOU!
3. Marci opening her beautiful home to us MOPS ladies to swim and hang out. She has the most perfect pool for kids and adults I've ever seen. We had a blast!
4. Mark feeling totally better today!
5. eggs, because when all else fails Ben will always eat some eggs. Tonight all else failed.
6. Sweet Lauren coming down to hang out with me this afternoon. Such a faithful friend! It means so much that she's always willing to come to me. She is a pleasure and I truly value our nearly decade long friendship.
7. SUN SCREEN! I'm white and I plan on staying that way, thank you very much.
8. God continuing to point out people in my life that love Him and encourage me to do the same.
9. Carrie's "thank you" card I got in the mail today. It made me feel so special. :)
10. Sophia Anderson being so sweet to Ben this morning. Whenever he'd slip and fall she'd be the first to ask if he's ok. She has a tender heart and I love watching her love on others even at just 2 years old.

I'm pretty excited because I'm not crafty, at all, but when I saw this idea on my new favorite crafty blog I got all giddy because I thought, "I can do that!" and so I did. And since my kids ARE crafty, go figure, I had all the stuff to make them on hand - yippee! All I had to do was buy the goodies that make the wings, which only cost me a dollar (thank you Dollar Tree!). I put them in the kid's little Easter buckets. I hope they like them as much I do. :-)

In a Nut Shell...

Saturday afternoon, 2pm, got home from Costco and thought I might be going into labor. Troy woke up from his nap at 3:30, sensed what was going on and was not too happy about it at all. Thinking it was pretty early, but not want wanting to take any chances, we left for the hospital a bit before 4 o'clock Yep, too early. Walked the halls for an hour which produced more of these... Which felt like this... And at 8:42pm they led to this... We are so thrilled to add a precious baby girl to our family We love you Mia Joy! (7lbs 2oz, 18.5" long)

I know that people come from good places and the intentions behind their comments are never bad, and sometimes they're actually funny, but sometimes I just want to say, um, really? Is that the BEST thing you can think of to say? Here are some of my faves from last week... "I'm going to un-friend you on facebook because you do not look like you just had a baby a week ago." - sorry? "What's her name? ... Oh I know SO MANY Mia's. Like, SO many." - great. "Are you guys finished yet? Is there some literature out there I can get for you (to teach you about prevention)?" (This one is my favorite) - "I'm the oldest of three and I am SO glad my parent's didn't have a fourth." - um... okay. This is the one I hear from almost everyone, it's not necessarily a bad thing to say, I just get it A LOT, "Two boys and two girls? Oh, the perfect family."
