Today I am thankful for...

1. my neighbors going to see our new house with us today because they are excited for us. I will really miss them, they are so great!
2. Mark's little touches on the house that I know he did just for me... for example, not putting any over-head lighting over the bed, he knows I'm not a fan of that. :)
3. Alfredo, who smiles all the time and teaches Mark Spanish, he is such a good guy.
4. my parent's watching Ben tonight and doing such a great job at it. I'm so thankful that they know each other well, what a blessing.
5. the time I spent with Kelly and Brent at the hospital, holding their 1 day old son, Jack. So precious.
6. Lactation consultants
7. JT warming up to his new little brother more today.
8. Kelly feeling (and LOOKING) so well after her c-section yesterday.
9. watching some of the Olympics with my parents tonight. And for the running commentary my mom and I had throughout, although I'm not sure my dad loved it.
10. sharing a blanket, stories and laughs with my mom. She is a dear friend of mine. (I really can't wait to stay 5 days with them next week, then we can REALLY bug my dad during his TV shows! Just like the good old days. :))

I'm pretty excited because I'm not crafty, at all, but when I saw this idea on my new favorite crafty blog I got all giddy because I thought, "I can do that!" and so I did. And since my kids ARE crafty, go figure, I had all the stuff to make them on hand - yippee! All I had to do was buy the goodies that make the wings, which only cost me a dollar (thank you Dollar Tree!). I put them in the kid's little Easter buckets. I hope they like them as much I do. :-)

In a Nut Shell...

Saturday afternoon, 2pm, got home from Costco and thought I might be going into labor. Troy woke up from his nap at 3:30, sensed what was going on and was not too happy about it at all. Thinking it was pretty early, but not want wanting to take any chances, we left for the hospital a bit before 4 o'clock Yep, too early. Walked the halls for an hour which produced more of these... Which felt like this... And at 8:42pm they led to this... We are so thrilled to add a precious baby girl to our family We love you Mia Joy! (7lbs 2oz, 18.5" long)

I know that people come from good places and the intentions behind their comments are never bad, and sometimes they're actually funny, but sometimes I just want to say, um, really? Is that the BEST thing you can think of to say? Here are some of my faves from last week... "I'm going to un-friend you on facebook because you do not look like you just had a baby a week ago." - sorry? "What's her name? ... Oh I know SO MANY Mia's. Like, SO many." - great. "Are you guys finished yet? Is there some literature out there I can get for you (to teach you about prevention)?" (This one is my favorite) - "I'm the oldest of three and I am SO glad my parent's didn't have a fourth." - um... okay. This is the one I hear from almost everyone, it's not necessarily a bad thing to say, I just get it A LOT, "Two boys and two girls? Oh, the perfect family."
