Great Grandma Prince!!
(I just figured out how to add pictures -thank you Amy, so watch out because there is PLENTY more where this came from!)
My Grandma was out here a few weeks ago and I just thought I'd share this photo from our fun night out together. We went to the diner where Mark and I met. I think she had a great time. :)
Today I am so thankful for...
1. meeting up with Kelly for a little shopping and lunch.
2. Mark putting up with my "sensitive" mood all day.
3. spur of the moment dinner plans with Leslie and Jason. (We totally invited ourselves over to their house! It was great!)
4. watching Ben turn into this big boy! (Less than 2 weeks until his first birthday!! Should I feel bad for crying about that?)
5. a Christmas card from Tim and Karen Stock. So sweet of them to think of my little family. I love that we're all still friends and that, although it took 20 years, their daughter and I are pretty darn close. :) Thanks for the consistency in my life, Stock family.
6. speaking of Karen... I'm thankful for the blanket she knitted -or crocheted not sure which, so sorry - for Ben. He LOVES it, sleeps with it, reaches for it when he's upset and just all around adores that blankie. And therefore so do I.
7. Mark not having to go to court today.
8. the Old Testament. Who needs a novel when you can read Genesis all day long?
9. the volunteers that check in the kids for childcare at church every Sunday.
10. that the joy of the Lord is my strength. (Nehemiah 8:10)

Saturday afternoon, 2pm, got home from Costco and thought I might be going into labor. Troy woke up from his nap at 3:30, sensed what was going on and was not too happy about it at all. Thinking it was pretty early, but not want wanting to take any chances, we left for the hospital a bit before 4 o'clock Yep, too early. Walked the halls for an hour which produced more of these... Which felt like this... And at 8:42pm they led to this... We are so thrilled to add a precious baby girl to our family We love you Mia Joy! (7lbs 2oz, 18.5" long)

I know that people come from good places and the intentions behind their comments are never bad, and sometimes they're actually funny, but sometimes I just want to say, um, really? Is that the BEST thing you can think of to say? Here are some of my faves from last week... "I'm going to un-friend you on facebook because you do not look like you just had a baby a week ago." - sorry? "What's her name? ... Oh I know SO MANY Mia's. Like, SO many." - great. "Are you guys finished yet? Is there some literature out there I can get for you (to teach you about prevention)?" (This one is my favorite) - "I'm the oldest of three and I am SO glad my parent's didn't have a fourth." - um... okay. This is the one I hear from almost everyone, it's not necessarily a bad thing to say, I just get it A LOT, "Two boys and two girls? Oh, the perfect family." Crafty Me

I'm pretty excited because I'm not crafty, at all, but when I saw this idea on my new favorite crafty blog I got all giddy because I thought, "I can do that!" and so I did. And since my kids ARE crafty, go figure, I had all the stuff to make them on hand - yippee! All I had to do was buy the goodies that make the wings, which only cost me a dollar (thank you Dollar Tree!). I put them in the kid's little Easter buckets. I hope they like them as much I do. :-)
