Today I have a special guest speaker, George Nuesca. A friend of Marks since 1984!! He's visiting us today from Sacramento, CA. Here are the 10 things George is thankful for today...

1. Day dreaming
2. The Fitzpatrick's hospitality
3. Wonderful view at Newport Landing Restaurant, looking out into the city (Irvine, Huntington, OC, etc.) and pier
4. Our first waitress, who was nice, at Newport Landing,
5. Very "little" traffic from Marina Del Rey to Huntington Beach
6. Baby Ben Fitzpatrick's smile and entertainment
7. Good music on the road and during lunch
8. Good shrimp and angel hair pasta entree (I especially enjoyed the sauce)
9. My first ever blog (or participation there in)
10. Silent nights

Thank you George! Here's what I'm thankful for today...

1. time with Carrie, Gavin and Ezekiel at the mall.
2. finding an incredible parking spot right in front.
3. George visiting us today.
4. Newport Beach in the off season when there aren't so many people all over the place.
5. TV being a novelty to Ben.
6. the yummy fried zucchini I had tonight at Newport Landing.
7. Ben giving kisses to Gavin today, and vise versa.
8. the sweet Christmas card from Darren and Pam and the very sweet birthday card from them to Ben as well.
9. Ben's really cute new sweatsuit from Nana and Papa Dan.
10. Ben's curiosity and fun demeanor.

Saturday afternoon, 2pm, got home from Costco and thought I might be going into labor. Troy woke up from his nap at 3:30, sensed what was going on and was not too happy about it at all. Thinking it was pretty early, but not want wanting to take any chances, we left for the hospital a bit before 4 o'clock Yep, too early. Walked the halls for an hour which produced more of these... Which felt like this... And at 8:42pm they led to this... We are so thrilled to add a precious baby girl to our family We love you Mia Joy! (7lbs 2oz, 18.5" long)

I know that people come from good places and the intentions behind their comments are never bad, and sometimes they're actually funny, but sometimes I just want to say, um, really? Is that the BEST thing you can think of to say? Here are some of my faves from last week... "I'm going to un-friend you on facebook because you do not look like you just had a baby a week ago." - sorry? "What's her name? ... Oh I know SO MANY Mia's. Like, SO many." - great. "Are you guys finished yet? Is there some literature out there I can get for you (to teach you about prevention)?" (This one is my favorite) - "I'm the oldest of three and I am SO glad my parent's didn't have a fourth." - um... okay. This is the one I hear from almost everyone, it's not necessarily a bad thing to say, I just get it A LOT, "Two boys and two girls? Oh, the perfect family." Crafty Me

I'm pretty excited because I'm not crafty, at all, but when I saw this idea on my new favorite crafty blog I got all giddy because I thought, "I can do that!" and so I did. And since my kids ARE crafty, go figure, I had all the stuff to make them on hand - yippee! All I had to do was buy the goodies that make the wings, which only cost me a dollar (thank you Dollar Tree!). I put them in the kid's little Easter buckets. I hope they like them as much I do. :-)
