Happy Christmas Eve!! Little sad because this will be the first year in my life that I won't be able to go to a Christmas Eve service. Although, the Chrystal Cathedral does show their service on TV, so maybe if I adjust the rabbit ears juuuuuuuuuust riiiiiiiiiight I'll be able to make out a picture. :)

Ben has been great all day, no high fever, just a little one right before bed, but no other symptoms of the flu or a cold or anything. Praise the Lord! Thank you for your prayers, feel free to keep praying as I will continue to pray for good health for all my family and friends. My mom is really sick right now and Carrie has a cold, so our Christmas might look a little different tomorrow, but God is good, so I'm confident we'll celebrate in whatever capacity we can.

Today I am thankful for...

1. Ben feeling so much better and having no further symptoms.
2. really finishing my Christmas shopping today. I mean it this time.
3. my dad coming down and staying with Ben while I ran some last minute errands.
4. my sis-in-law Amy for writing her blog today and having her sis-in-law guest write. I've grown quite attached to Amy's thankful lists, so I'm glad she's able to continue them while in Ohio.
5. memories of this time last year... I was rather large and crying everytime the word "baby" was said/sung during the two Christmas Eve services I went to.
6. Mark being able to get off work early tonight, hopefully. :)
7. my little 2 year old neighbor Peyton, who came up to me and said "Happy Birthday, Jesus!"
8. cell phones.
9. the little baby Jesus, the Christ child.
10. living in America.

Saturday afternoon, 2pm, got home from Costco and thought I might be going into labor. Troy woke up from his nap at 3:30, sensed what was going on and was not too happy about it at all. Thinking it was pretty early, but not want wanting to take any chances, we left for the hospital a bit before 4 o'clock Yep, too early. Walked the halls for an hour which produced more of these... Which felt like this... And at 8:42pm they led to this... We are so thrilled to add a precious baby girl to our family We love you Mia Joy! (7lbs 2oz, 18.5" long)

I know that people come from good places and the intentions behind their comments are never bad, and sometimes they're actually funny, but sometimes I just want to say, um, really? Is that the BEST thing you can think of to say? Here are some of my faves from last week... "I'm going to un-friend you on facebook because you do not look like you just had a baby a week ago." - sorry? "What's her name? ... Oh I know SO MANY Mia's. Like, SO many." - great. "Are you guys finished yet? Is there some literature out there I can get for you (to teach you about prevention)?" (This one is my favorite) - "I'm the oldest of three and I am SO glad my parent's didn't have a fourth." - um... okay. This is the one I hear from almost everyone, it's not necessarily a bad thing to say, I just get it A LOT, "Two boys and two girls? Oh, the perfect family." Crafty Me

I'm pretty excited because I'm not crafty, at all, but when I saw this idea on my new favorite crafty blog I got all giddy because I thought, "I can do that!" and so I did. And since my kids ARE crafty, go figure, I had all the stuff to make them on hand - yippee! All I had to do was buy the goodies that make the wings, which only cost me a dollar (thank you Dollar Tree!). I put them in the kid's little Easter buckets. I hope they like them as much I do. :-)
